  • Firefighters increased the Pickett Fire's containment to 13% overnight in northern Napa County by working to slow the blaze's spread— they will keep fighting the fire to protect rural communities.  Napa Valley Register

  • Today Napa's Vine Transit began operating 14 new electric buses to offer residents cleaner ride options — the buses are now serving local routes.  Napa Valley Register

HEALTH NEWS

  • Napa County Public Health Officer Dr. Christine Wu signed a local health emergency on August 25th in response to hazardous debris from the ongoing Pickett Fire in Calistoga that threatened safe water supplies and public health. The proclamation allows for the cleanup of toxic materials and may enable access to state and federal firefighting resources.  County of Napa
