EDUCATION NEWS

  • Napa Valley CanDo’s Neighborhood Reads launched a program that boosts interest in reading by highlighting Napa’s over 40 Little Free Libraries—encouraging residents to explore local literacy resources.  Napa Valley Register
  • Modernization work continues at 11 Napa Valley Unified School District campuses this summer — funded by two taxpayer-approved bond measures. The projects will update facilities and improve the learning environment for students.  Napa Valley Register

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City of Napa has opened applications for the Napa City Academy for fall — the program will offer residents a crash course in how city government operates.  Napa Valley Register
  • Napa County approved a $3.5 million Firewise agreement that continues its partnership with the Napa Communities Firewise Foundation (the deal will fund projects to reduce wildfire risks across the county).  Napa Valley Register
  • On July 22nd, the Napa County Board of Supervisors confirmed appointments and reappointments to advisory groups, including three roles on the Child Care and Development Planning Council with terms expiring June 30, 2028, four on the Napa/Solano Agency on Aging Advisory Council set to expire June 30, 2027, and one on the In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Committee ending on September 1, 2027 — these moves are part of routine board renewals.  County of Napa
