Topic: NorCalMentalHealth.org a Rotary District 5130 Project
Our presenter today is our own Past District Governor Tom Boylan who was responsible for the creation of the District 5130 Mental Health Initiative, NorCalMentalHealth.org
As District Governor, he assembled a team of advisors to develop NorCalMentalHealth.Org , a website that provides mental health and crisis resources tailored to each of Northern California's seven counties. This project was initiated in response to a challenge from Rotary International President-Elect Gordon McInally, urging incoming Governors to address the stigma and barriers related to mental health.
From anxiety and depression to stress-related disorders, mental health issues affect individuals from all walks of life, transcending age, gender, and socioeconomic background. As we continue to navigate through life’s challenges and uncertainties, it becomes increasingly vital to have access to reliable mental health resources that can provide support, guidance, and treatment when needed.
