About this event
The resilience club is a community discussion group for El Sobrante and residents of Richmond, San Pablo and surrounding localities. We are here to discuss resilience not as a means only of survival, but as a way we can come to thrive in the places we inhabit.
Discussions could include: What can resilience look like in El Sobrante? Psychological Resilience Food Systems Shelter and Housing Materials (construction, fabrics, food storage, tools) Skills (building, farming, medicine, ecological stewardship, emergency response, critical thought) Personal wellness Self Defense Wildfire, natural disasters and defensible space
This will be a structured conversation starting with a three minute silence , 2 minutes (optional) to share your thoughts or ideas, uninterrupted, followed by discussion and end capped with action planning or agenda items.
The purpose of this meeting is not to virtue signal, pose as an expert or pretend we know what is ‘right.’ It is to discuss, as members of a community, what we think resilience means, how we can help each other achieve this and how we can turn preparedness into a better way of being in the world.
