About this event

Jack London died of kidney failure on Nov. 22, 1916. In his short life he accomplished much, not only as a writer of fifty books, but also as an adventurer, reporter, war correspondent, sports article writer, and innovative farmer. He was in the process of developing a model ranch, destined to be the finest in California, when he died. He would have wished farming to be his true legacy, far beyond writing. Learn more about the gravesite.

On the 110th anniversary of his passing - Nov. 22, 2026 - Volunteer Park Historian Lou Leal will preside over a service at London’s gravesite. Songwriter and vocalist Jeff Falconer will perform his original song, written in memory of Jack London.
